The new Electricity Industry and Organization Act (ElWG) is intended to replace the outdated ElWOG and ensure the overdue implementation of the European internal electricity market directive. This law is a central step for Austria to achieve the goal of climate neutrality by 2040.
Modern electricity law as a basis for system and cost efficiency
- Basic supply, replacement supply for companies, social tariff and price change law - is a solution to be sought
- Creation of a modern legal basis for a future-oriented, digital, cost-efficient, polluter-pays and sustainable electricity system that ensures affordable and competitive energy prices
- In the course of the negotiations of the ElWG, bidirectional charging should be taken into account in the sense of supporting the required consumption and feed-in flexibility.
